Narrative and War: war coverage in Brazilian and international press

The project connect initiatives, researchers and areas around the debate about narrative representation of war, specially through media coverage for war correspondents. One of the innovations is, in addition with the academic reflection, the debate will be made through other forms as audiovisual products. The proposition is to write and publish academic papers, interviews with war correspondents, to organize a book and to make a documentary about war coverage. An interdisciplinary way for this project puts together Literature, Journalism, Communication, Arts, Antropology and History to study media, narrative, war, Midle East, international press and Brazil, resulting in academic reflection, debate and the construction of dense analysis with researchers insisde Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil) and partnerships with Universidade Federal Fluminense (Brazil) and  Universidade do Algarve (Portugal).

An interdisciplinary way of research guides this project, putting together aeras as Literature, Journalism, Communications, Arts, Antropology and History to study media, narrative, war and the Middle East, resulting in academic research, debate and construction of analysis with researches from Universidade de São Paulo and other institutions, the production and publication of articles, roduction of interviews with war correpondents and the consolidation of a field of research about the issue at FFLCH (USP, Brazil) and also at NEOM (UFF, Brazil) and CIAC (Universidade do Algarve, Portugal). There will be made three products that, at the same time, will be results of academic research and will help to create the thought ans the analysis. The project will produce papers, a book with interviews and academic articles and the documentary WAR.DOC.
